Chocolate
Bread Pudding

 

 

If you love chocolate you will love this bread pudding.
It is a summertime favorite.


INGREDIENTS:

1/3 loaf of French bread
2 Tablespoons butter or margarine
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar (packed)
2 Tablespoons Cocoa
3 eggs
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
dash salt
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup pecans


DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter 1 1/2 quart oven-proof glass casserole dish. Mix eggs, sugars, vanilla, cocoa, salt and milk together thoroughly. Tear French bread into 1 inch pieces and place in glass casserole bowl. Put nuts in bowl and toss with bread. Pour liquid mixture over bread/nut mix. Dot with butter. Place casserole dish in a 9"X11" pan that has 1" of water. Bake in oven for 70 minutes.

Can be served warm or cool. Can be served with cream or whipped cream.
